Why You Should Talk to Your Self Every Day for 5 Minutes
Recently I have been doing a lot of personal coaching with a guy who came here to the Dominican Republic. A huge thing that we are focusing on is improving his body language. I had him practice interactions in front of the mirror over and over again so he could see how he looked to the girl. I told him he needs to practice in the mirror just 5 minutes every day. This is something I used to do, but stopped.
Being reminded of how important it is, I started doing 5 minutes in the mirror every day. The difference in my game level was obvious. All of a sudden a girl told me “You have a beautiful smile.” Something I hadn’t heard in months. One, then another, then another. They would stare at my face dreamily as I would use my charm. Then, I started hearing how good looking I am. This is something I rarely hear as well. I have studied body language a ton and I had stopped focusing on it for so long that I needed to brush up. The differences in my day game were also astounding. Then, there was the transformation I saw in his body language. I never saw him improve faster than when he would put time in in front of the mirror.
The obvious example of why this is so important
This may sound like a strange thing to say, but it’s 100% true. To improve your body language, one of the best things you can do is talk to yourself every day in the mirror for 5 minutes. Why? Think about this…
Have you ever met somebody who was deaf? Somebody who wasn’t always deaf and still understood how to speak. Think about how these people sound when they try to talk? Is it charming or attractive? No, it’s not. In fact, it’s the complete opposite, but it’s not their fault because they can’t hear themselves talk to check how they sound.
The invention that changed it all
Ever since the invention of mirrors, man has been able to improve their body language because they have finally been able to see how they look when they do certain things. The mirror has given us a ridiculous power and it is the difference (in body language) between a deaf person speaking and somebody with perfect ears. It’s black and white how much more attractive you sound when you can see or hear your self. Now that we have video (I have mentioned a lot that it’s good to webcam with girls just to practice body language), pictures and other things that allow us to see how we look to other people, we should all be taking advantage of this. But even with all the advances in technology, the best tool is still the mirror.
You must know what attractive body language is to be able to practice it
It’s important why doing this that you understand what attractive male body language is. To do this you should look to the Hollywood heart throbs. These guys make millions of dollars because of their masterful body language. Watch all the James Bond movies, watch George Clooney, Brad Pitt or any other guy that makes women swoon. Once you start studying these guys you will see the patterns that make all these guys so much more attractive than other guys (and it’s not just genetic looks like you imagine).
I have spent a ton of time studying this and have written a book about it: The 9 Laws of Attractive Body Language. A big difference between women and men, is that men can become much more physically attractive just having better body language, whereas women can only improve this slightly. Before you get in front of the mirror trying to improve your attractiveness, you must understand the finished product you want. Getting my book and watching the masters is a good way to do that.
